LetUsVote Movement: Team Visited NOA; NOA endorsed; Promised Full Support

The meeting which started around 11:30am in the NOA office in Osogbo with introduction of the NOA staffs and LetUsVote working committee.

Babawale present at the meeting the vision, mission and core values of the LetUsVote movement being facilitated by Raising New Voices Initiative, supported by OneforAll Initiative. He reiterate the need to be involve in ensuring good governance through citizen participation in electoral process.

He further said, the movement planned to achieve this through sensitization across the grassroots to educate the people the need to be part of building the society which is why we want to partner with NOA to preach against violence, vote buying and as well engage young people irrespective of their profession in order to bring into actualization the Nigeria we desire.

Babawale who led the working committee explain what the logo means which is translate as right to vote and electoral transparency.
D/Director of Programmes registered his displeasure regarding the orientation of the people and the contribution of the government in discouraging people to participate in electoral process, he added that people consider their stomach before any other thing and truly are ready to vote but there are setbacks on the part of other major stakeholders.
Babawale cleared the notion that vote don't count but added that the movement will give it best to address the area of low turnout of the young people in taking charge in electoral process.

The director appreciate the movement and gives words of advice and promise the agency cooperation so as to achieve the movement aims and objectives.

Questions were raised by the NOA staffs present and answered by Babawale.
D/Director of Planning Research and Strategy (PRS) advised that every issues raised and discussed should be treated well so as to aid the movement achieve it aims and objectives, applying the key of observation and local knowledge.
