LetUsVote Movement: Team Visited NOA; NOA endorsed; Promised Full Support (Photos)

On June 9, 2021, LetUsVote Team Members visited the National Orientation Agency office in Osogbo. In their meeting which started around 11:30am in the NOA office in Osogbo lasted for 2 hours. 

Advocate Babawale presented the LetUsVote campaign as a citizens’ driven voters’ drive and advocacy for active participation in in the electoral process. 

"This is a non-partisan movement of young people who believe in voting power and the role of electoral education. Our mission is to ensure that all citizens who have attained the voting age get registered to vote, collect their permanent voters’ card, vote on election day and make their votes count through access to information. We have our network of advocates widely spread across the 3,010 polling units in the 332 registration areas of the Osun state’s 30 local government areas." He said
"Considering the mandate and realizing the importance of your office and the need for proper orientation of the people, we have decided to partner with the highly reputable agency in facilitating access to electoral information." Babawale concluded.

During the meeting, conversations around the Continuous Voters’ Registration, the modalities and the preparedness of the LetUsVote movement towards the exercise was made.

"The LetUsVote movement is indeed coming at the right time and as an Agency, we are ready to partner and provide you with all necessary educational information and materials in our jurisdiction, which will serve as a guide for providing access to electoral information in a bid to promote credible elections and boost citizens’ confidence in the electoral process." - NOA State Director

Some Questions were raised by the NOA staffs present and answered by the LetUsVote team.

Deputy Director of Planning Research and Strategy (PRS) advised that every issues raised and discussed should be treated well so as to aid the movement achieve it aims and objectives, applying the key of observation and local knowledge.

In attendance were the following NOA Representatives: Chief Accountant, Deputy Director PRS, Deputy Director Programmes, Mr. Ibikunle Oluropo (Director).
