Bisade Ologunde (in Lagos, 1960) is a Nigerian afrobeat musician, singer-songwriter and percussionist. Widely known as Lágbájá for his signature use of mask which covers his identity. He believes in social reform through music. Ologunde adopted the name Lágbájá (meaning ‘anonymous’ or ‘faceless one’ in Yoruba) as he embarked on his career in the early 90s. His name was reflected in his choice of stage attire - a slitted textile and rubber mask adopted so that the artist represented the ‘common man’ in keeping with the carnival tradition of his Yoruba tribe. He formed his first small band in 1991 in Lagos after he had taught himself to play the saxophone. Sola Sobowale, popularly known as 'Toyin Tomato' is a Nigerian film actress, screenwriter, director and producer. BIOGRAPHY He was born in Oke-Igbo, Ondo State, to Joshua Akíntúndé Fágúnwà and Rachel Òṣunyọmí Fágúnwà in 1903. His paternal grandfather was Asungaga Bèyíokú, an Ifa priest. His parents were originally adherents of the traditional Yoruba religion until they converted to Christianity in the late 1910s to early 1920s. He was born with the name Oròwọlé, referring to the Yoruba bullroarer god, Orò. When his family converted to Christianity, he changed his name to Ọlọ́runfẹ́mi (God loves me). EDUCATION An Oloye of the Yoruba people, Fagunwa studied at St. Luke's School, Oke-Igbo, and St. Andrew's College, Oyo, before becoming a teacher himself. FOSSU NATIONAL GIVES MAKINDE 14DAYS ULTIMATUM TO GIVE MODALITIES FOR BURSARIES PAYMENT The National Council of the Federation of Oyo State Students Union (FOSSU) has given Governor Makinde led administration an ultimatum of 14days to announce modalities for which Oyo Sttae Students’ bursary will be paid. This is contained in a statement made available to OYOMIND.COM.NG by the leaders of the Union, Com. Azeez Muritala Oluwasegun Olowoeko and Ajadi Isaac Oluwasegun who are National President and Senate President respectively. The National President, Olowoeko at the joint executive and senate principal officials meeting noted that Bursary which has been the major dividends of democracy enjoyed by students was last received eight (8) years ago. Hajia Aya Dada Yar’Adua by name, is the lovely mother to our former president in Nigeria by name Umaru Musa Yar’Adua, the matriarch of the Yar’Adua’s family, she was married to Musa Yar’dua, a former minister. She gave birth to successful children that made her a unique mother, her son Shehu Musa Yaradua, was once a vice president from 1979-1981. Another of her son, Umaru Musa Yaradua was once a governor of katsina state for 8 years before he later became the president of Nigeria from 2007- 2009 when he died. One of her grandson Alhaji Murtala Shegu yaradua was a minister from 2009-2011. Three of her granddaughters were married wives of governors of three different state. General Abayomi Gabriel Olonisakin was born on the 2 Dec 61 in Kaduna, but hails from Gboyin Local Government Area of Ekiti State. He began his military career as far back as 1973 as a soldier boy in Nigerian Military School Zaria. He was later admitted into the Nigerian Defence Academy and commenced cadet training on 3 January 1979, as a member of 25 Regular Combatant Course. Gen Olonisakin was later commissioned on 18 December 1981 as a Second Lieutenant and was posted to Nigerian Army Signals Corps.
