BACKGROUND
Burna boy whose birth names are Damini Ebunoluwa Ogulu was born on the 2nd of July 1991 as the first child of Mr and Mrs Ogulu in Ahaoda, Rivers State, Nigeria. He started making music at the age of 10 after his classmate gave him the FuityLoops software for music production.

When Burna Boy was in secondary school, he formed a music band which performed at concerts. He went to London to further his education but dropped out because of his passion for music. His love for music made his mother get him a job as an intern at a radio station. After work each day, Burna Boy would go to the studio to record songs. He always had his generator in his car’s trunk as a back up should power supply go off at the studio.
According to records, Burna Boy attended Montessori International School, Port Harcourt from where he moved to Corona, Agbara, Lagos, for his secondary school education. However, it is not known to the public if he had a university education or not.

FAMILY LIFE
Burna Boy has an alleged baby mama called Uju Stella Johnson, who called him out in May 2016 on Instagram for abandoning her and their baby after she became pregnant for him. Stella also accused him of raping a girl in the United Kingdom and abandoning his trial process. In response, the songster admitted to sleeping with her once but rubbished claims that he got her pregnant for him. Currently, Burna Boy is not married yet neither does he have children of his own.

MUSICAL CAREER
In his little time on the microphone, the singer has managed to pull successful African singers like AKA, Leriq, and Sarkodie to the studio to work with him. This feat alone earned him praises within and beyond the entertainment community.

As mentioned earlier, the Afrofusion songwriter launched his career in 2010. He dropped his first record titled: “Shobeedo (Freestyle)” in 2011, which was followed shortly by ‘Burn Notice” and “Burn Identity”. The following year, precisely on may 31, 2012, the dancer released another single titled: “Like To Party” and subsequently its video on September 5, 2012, to the excitement of many music lovers.


“Like to Party” music video, which ran for 4 minutes and 9 seconds and shot by Squareball Media services, to date, is considered as Burna Boy’s breakout song/video, as it played pivotal roles in thrusting him into an immense popularity across Nigeria and beyond.

The Afropop vocalist also boasts another single hit titled “Tonight”, which was released on September 24, 2012, and later backed up with its music video. The music video for “Tonight” was released on December 13, 2012, and featured the singer’s innate feelings and heartfelt emotions.

Burna Boy is a Nigerian afro-fusion singer and songwriter. He is the CEO of Spaceship Entertainment record label, and enjoys both international and local popularity.
Burna Boy is currently one of the richest and most influential artist in Nigeria with an estimated net worth of $1.2 million.
